I wanted to first take a moment to comment upon statements made by some past participants about the last session. Dale wrote,



"Responding to Jim Viner’s “I wonder why Google doesn’t advertise more of these useful tools…” got me to thinking about that as well. At first, I reasoned that perhaps it is because it is still beta testing the “product,” so it might not be ready to formally open it up to a large population. But then, what better demographic group to test it than a group of educators? Perhaps Google has done this, but hand-picked a specific set of educators…and they’re not us. Responding to Sandy, too, regarding her wondering why Google “always seems to be at the forefront,” I have to agree with “Anonymous” and Jim who said that Google does it right and has the financial base to make it work. I wonder if there is a way that we can “put a lid” on plagiarism within school settings, or will it grow rampantly with the ease of access through all of these on-line sources? They are slowly coming out of their beta stage. Here is an example of their Google Teacher Academy:

And as far as rampant plagiarism is concerned, I think that more and more teachers are changing their assessments and projects for their classes by having students:
-personalize their reports and answers,
-make text-to-text and text-to-self connections, and
-relate a lesson's topic to the world around them.
